3rd May

When we came home this afternoon we discovered Lexus had chewed up three pens a pencil and an eraser that Sara uses for her copy editing course!
Of course she should not leave them where he can reach them, although that is easier said than done considering he can climb to areas you would think way out of his reach.  Plus he, 'Does things right in front of you,' as Sam said today, recalling how he placed his beaker of juice on top of a high surface and Lexus immediately started to climb up to get it!
Only this evening, and now I am going to reveal something that for a long time we have kept silent about, only this evening, he repeatedly jumped up at the kitchen counter to reach some, wait for it, to reach ... some ...  lettuce.   Yes, our tough boy Lexus likes lettuce!  Not just likes but jumps up and steals it off the counter!

Now I have told you, things will never be quite the same, but you had to know.

As if eating the pens was not bad enough, later on his walk with Tara he ate Ground Elder and grass and brought back the contents of his stomach which contained bits of different coloured pen, pieces of wood and lead and quite a lot of white eraser and it smelt strongly of pencil, or the inside of a pencil case!
A second up chuck revealed the leaf of my house plant he ate yesterday.
I hope I haven't put you off your lunch.

Some encouragement :- A lady who regularly puts money in our collection tin at the vets has left a message saying she would like to give regularly on a more formal basis and we have had one of the best applications of interest to adopt  a dog we have had in ages!
Halleluia!
