Heard from Lorraine (retiring dog warden Reigate & Banstead) today was her last day after I don't know how many years. Numerous dogs owe their lives to Lorraine and dog wardens like her who plead with their bosses to give dogs in council pounds more time and badger rescues like us to take them otherwise the dogs would be PTS after seven days. DW like Lorraine go far beyond their remit and all for the dogs, getting no thanks from their bosses and groans from the rescues. Piglet and Riley both came from her and in the past we have had Pixie, Toby, Lily, Muttley all now homed.
Encouragement from Nikki at Epsom Canine Rescue that they are in the same situation as us. Things are so slow we cannot put the dogs in kennels as they would be staying so long they would go mad and cost us a fortune but then we have no spaces when really urgent rescue cases come along like Sandy!
The perfect homes are out there for each of our dogs we just need to find them.
